The Athens of the North

There was a time when Edinburgh was affectionately known across the world as the Athens of the North in tribute to its astounding contributions to learning in all its forms and in comparison to the great days of the classical world. The SNP would of course not wish to be reminded of this, a model of everything to which they are opposed. Yet we will still have Edinburgh as the Athens of the North 2015 style if they have their wretched way. Bankruptcy, poverty, despair on an unprecedented scale has been the fate of the Greeks and awaits us if this miserable rabble stay in power much longer. They have made a start - the health service is failing, after years in charge they have done nothing to develop the service and anticipate future needs. Education is a poor imitation of what 21st century life requires and they are overspending like drunken sailors. All we get is their tired religion of independence as the answer to all our problems endlessly repeated and backed up by their thugs on the street. We are getting to have no go areas in our cities.
