Incompetence writ large

Latest SNP fiasco with litigation gone wrong. Partisan journalist lamenting the dent this makes in the Scottish (SNP) governments reputation for competence. Eh? Where has he been. Any significant issue which has arisen (and there are few given the Scottish Goverment’s resemblance to a glorified county council - think Yorkshire here) they have seriously mishandled and stumbled around looking for someone to blame. As a backdrop they  have reduced us to financial ruin. They were landed with the problem of the convicted Lockerbie bomber. A shambles. They failed to take robust professional advice relying instead on a notoriously media friendly oncology pundit rather than a sensible source of practical ontological practitioners and compounded their folly by having the wretched justice secretary making a lengthy speech in public describing their own failure. That might have been bad luck. Children being asked to do the work of adults. On their own account we had the proposal to put a spy in the home of every parent of young children. They could not imagine the totalitarian repressive nature of that. It is thus far stymied but will they learn? Clue - unlikely. And now we have the blustering former first minister and his once loyal handmaiden now exalted to a (holding?) role as his successor governing over us at each other’s throats. What fun. Competence?  What nonsense.
The suffering goes on.

Confirmation of what we knew.

We now have formal legal confirmation of what we always knew. Scottish nationalism is no longer a rational position for debate. A prominent nationalist went court to seek confirmation of his view that nationalism and specifically the Scottish variety was covered by certain legal protections framed as support for religious beliefs. The court agreed. Nationalism is a religion with all the irrational associations we are familiar with. We no longer need to heed their utterances. We may disregard their notions as we choose. We need not, indeed can not,  debate rationally with them.
But we knew that. Scottish nationalism from the outset was and is a cargo cult. A religion promising unspecified delights in reward for unquestioning belief. And now it is official. We can safely ignore the SNP and all its works. Back to the politics of the real world.

As if the SNP was not enough

Scotland is on the brink of disaster. A substantial minority of second rate people are close to dragging us to ruin with independence,
The Guardian newspaper unsurprisingly seems to encourage such nonsense.
Try this  - an outpouring of a deranged fantasist.

It is not worthy of further comment.

Here we go again

The SNP have decided to have another referendum on Scottish Independence. Their folly is unbelievable. Since their last failed attempt the economic situation has worsened. The contribution of offshore oil has all but collapsed, borrowing continues apace and the ratio of debt to GDP is now worse than that of Greece. (We share a common patron saint - St Andrew - maybe there is something in that). The SNP are pathologically attached to the notion of EU membership as they imagine that they will get to join and that the EU will fund them after the manner in which a number of poorer states were helped. Both elements of this are vanishingly unlikely. Several member states will categorically veto a Scottish application as a step likely to encourage other separatists and the EU has no need for another insolvent member. Undeterred the SNP is ploughing on with a plan that reads like a suicide note. Watch this space.

The Game is Up!

You have heard it all, seen it all and suffered it all. Our useless government is in terminal failure. Its performance is awful. Its ambitions are appalling. Its methods are dictatorial, intrusive and ineffectual. They have spun a web of misinformation such that despite there uselessness they still head polls for the forthcoming election. Think about things. Think about where you are at and what you need and want. There is still time. Get out on the day and vote for any party you think will help you. We know the SNP are worthless so on the  PR ballot paper put them last.

Project Fear

Our abject first minister tells us that the No campaign in the Scottish referendum resorted to project fear. They scared us into voting "No"! to an independent Scotland. Eh?  The No campaign at the time had no idea just how bad it would get and now is with a totalitarian government of third raters banging on about oil, the price of which has fallen to an unimagined degree. Project fear is about telling the truth, a commodity in short supply. If we vote to leave the EU or the UK we are in for a terrible time. The SNP want us in the EU as the source of handouts of last resort should they ever achieve their dream of a (bankrupt) independent Scotland. You know what to do!

What a contrast.

Three of Scotland's political parties are led by women.  Labour and Conservative  are led by bright cheerful optimistic women who in their different ways portray a vision, positive and optimistic ,  of a future Scotland.  In contrast we have the SNP,  led by the dismal,  depressed first Minister,  a spoilt child controlled by dark unseen forces,  wandering around mouthing her lines, unconvinced and unconvincing.  She wants us all to be as sad as herself.  Such is our choice.  Let us make the obvious choice.  Put our first minister out of her misery. Vote her and her tribe out.  For ever.
